PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME
RAHIRI TUMUAKI
At the Tauranga Waldorf School we cherish childhood and provide an environment and a programme which emphasises the development of imagination alongside physical skills, thinking capacities and social relationships.
Set on 16 acres, we offer a playground wonderland where childhood adventures abound for children from birth to Year 8 and a learning journey rich in the visual and performing and practical arts with our outdoor classroom and bush kindergarten a particular feature.
We go to considerable lengths to facilitate the students’ ability to be self-directed, reflective and self-aware learners and this is supported by the structure of our learning programmes, the school environment and our approach to growth and development . We partner parents in providing a Steiner/ Waldorf education where learning is natural and joyous.
So welcome to Tauranga Waldorf School where children learn through the examples of love, authority and respect.

A Waldorf Education for Aotearoa
The primary school children share the site with enough younger ones to fill three kindergartens, a nursery group, a parent and child group, as well as a range of animals whom they care for and nurture, including chickens, cows and kune kune pigs.
